- I like the idea of an application that can be collaborative among all users. With all of the musical examples we were given in class, I was given the idea of an app that allows users to compose music together. There would be certain levels of complexity that would determine whether a user could contribute to a song or not. Once a song was complete, everyone in the public is allowed to vote on it. They can vote on the song as a whole as well as the different contributions to the song. For example, if user A was very highly rated on their piano contribution for a certain number of songs, they would have more access and be allowed to contribute more. If a user was poorly rated, they would only be allowed to contribute to very public, amateur pieces of music. Users can only submit one contribution per song whether it be vocals, piano, drums, guitar, etc. The end result would be a type of working Sound Cloud.
- Although I am an avid sweatpants wearer, I know that it can be hard to pick out an outfit sometimes. My second idea involves an app that helps you put together an outfit. The user would have to submit photos of individual pieces of their wardrobe. Once that is completed, the user can upload photos from Pinterest or Tumblr of outfits that they like, and the app will use this information to put together an outfit from the users closet that is in similar taste and style so that users can get more outfit ideas from a single example (the image is taken from the 1995 movie Clueless showing a fictional device that selects outfits).
