Two Initial Ideas

It took me a while to come up with ideas that but here are my two.

My first idea would be a web application that would allow users to create and share artwork, specifically music made from car sounds. The web application would allow users to submit a video and audio clip of a car making a particular sound that would be stored in a database associated with the application. The application  would then allow users to create music videos or audio clips using the clips uploaded to the application’s database. The application would include simple and easy to use tools allowing inexperienced musicians to create music by looping sounds. It may seem like the music would be bad because cars are not musical instruments but I am positive the music could turn out good. There are thousands different cars in the world and each engine has the capability of producing many different notes. Moreover, other parts of the car can also make sound. Check out this video for an example that inspired me for the idea of looping the sounds and using video clips along to accompany the audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVgbHGV5XiY.

My second idea would be another web application that would allow users to create artwork. When I was young, before I had training in painting and sketching, I used to create geometric designs within concentric circles modeled after some Indian bed sheets my parents had on their bed. Now the designs, or mandalas, seem to be really common on walls, stickers, and bodies and that’s why think this web application has the potential to be popular. I realize that with a lot of patience and a little understanding of symmetry it is very easy to create an intricate design and the process is very relaxing for many people. Although the concept of crowd sourcing large pieces of art is not uncommon this web application would focus on a specific part of art, mandalas. The web application would have some drawing tools to help the user create the design for one of the concentric circles. After many users contribute the main page will be a huge, and intricate mandala that can be zoomed int to see the details.
