My name is Harsh Sanghavi and I am pursuing my M.S. in Human Factors Engineering. My primary interests are user experience research and design, autonomous vehicle user interface design and evaluation, and human-computer interaction.
Before joining Virginia Tech, I had the opportunity to present a poster-style presentation at the International Astronautical Congress on the use of crowdsourcing information to enable more accurate and real-time GIS mapping for disaster management in India. It would be interesting to revisit this idea in more detail. I am interested in understanding the possible obstacles to such an idea when looking at the problem from the context of the CSCW class.
On the other hand, it would be also interesting to work on a project that is more in line with my current research, i.e. user interactions in autonomous vehicles. For example, interactions between different passengers of a self-driving rideshare service could be an interesting problem to tackle in the context of this class.
I look forward to the ideas and challenges that we shall explore over the duration of the CSCW course.
