Ph.D. student Panagiotis Apostolellis successfully completed and defended his dissertation work titled “Evaluating Group Interaction and Engagement using Virtual Environments and Serious Games for Student Audiences in Informal Learning Settings.” Panagiotis’ research was a first step in understanding how virtual environments and serious games can be used to effectively engage a large student audience, mostly during visits in informal learning spaces such as museums and science centers. His work has been published in the ACM SIGCHI conference on Interaction Design and Children (IDC), and the ACM Advances in Computer Entertainment Technology (ACE), among others.
