We recently completed the Spring 2012 graduate seminar course on 3D Interaction. The theme for the course was “innovative 3D UI design,” meaning that we wanted to seek a return to the early days of 3D UI research, when the primary activity was dreaming up and implementing novel, magical ways to interact in 3D space. In this course, no experiments were allowed! A group of seven very talented students spent the semester developing five amazing projects demonstrating the level of innovation that’s still possible with 3D UIs.
