Hardware

The cluster consists of 32 general purpose compute nodes running CentOS 8, and supporting hardware.

The specifications for the general compute nodes are:

• Dell R640 1U server
• 2x Intel Xeon Gold 5218 2.3Ghz 16 core processors
• 384 GB Main memory @ 2933 MT/s
• 1TB system drive
• 10 Gbit Ethernet interconnect

Other dedicated supporting hardware:

• APC Netshelter rack
• 2x Netgear ProSafe 10Gig network switches

Balancing

The cluster uses ipvs to balance incoming users to different nodes. Zabbix, with custom scripts, is used to monitor and weigh the nodes
