I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech and plan to graduate in May 2021. I want to pursue a career as a software development engineer.

My work is focused on user-centered software development for smart home technologies. I have worked on the international award-winning smart house project ‘FutureHAUS’ (https://www.futurehaus.tech/team/). I contributed towards developing an application to convert real-time, time-series data from numerous IoT sensors into a specific format for enabling the collection, aggregation, and visualization. My research interests include software engineering, smart home software, mixed reality, human-centered design, and human-computer interaction.

I have been actively involved with the Association for Women in Computing (AWC) at Virginia Tech to engage with fellow women in science and engineering regarding our common aspirations and challenges. This is really close to my heart and I intend to keep working towards empowering women in tech.

My enthusiasm for learning has driven me towards new challenges. Though I started out my professional career as an Architect, I successfully transitioned to pursuing graduate degrees in Computer Science! I strongly believe that my technical skill set in software development achieved through Computer Science education and the design skills acquired through the architecture training prepared me for a career in software development.
