The VR knowledgebase is a crowdsourced, online repository that holds our understanding on the affects of immersion, or display fidelity, and display types, on various tasks and measures, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We designed a standard framework in which users can add their findings and contributions to the repository, and later browse and search for how specific components of immersion affect VR tasks. The Knowledgebase presents a format to input the most important information about a paper, from significant findings, display details to experimental design. Our goal is to collect the collective knowledge about display fidelity, and gain higher-level insights from 70+ papers. <\/p>\n\n\n

He has served in many roles for the IEEE Virtual Reality Conference<\/a>, including program chair, general chair, and steering committee chair. He also co-founded the IEEE Symposium on 3D User Interfaces (now part of IEEE VR). He received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation for his work on 3D Interaction, and has been named an ACM Distinguished Scientist.
