System policy has changed to include certain system limits. These are limits are in place to protect the system and help ensure that the system stays available for all students to use. See more details on the policy page: https://wordpress.cs.vt.edu/rlogin/policies/

Directory permissions have been reset on all undergraduate account top level directories. This is to prevent unauthorized access to coursework. If you have a legitimate need for more loose permissions, then you will need to reset the permissions yourself.

We are planning to update all rlogin nodes to CentOS 7 the week of May 18, 2015.

Disk quotas for home directories on rlogin have been re-enabled.  The following disk quotas are in effect:

Grads - 25GB
Majors - 15GB
Non-majors - 10GB

To find out how much space you are using, run the following command on any rlogin node:

du -shx ~

Depending on how many files you have this command might take a minute or two to run.

A new version of the rlogin.cs.vt.edu cluster is coming with updated hardware and more nodes.
